Deccan Odyssey Train Coaches and Saloon :
The Deccan Odyssey has 21 coaches with interiors done in hues of gold and midnight blue. There are 11 passenger cars with four coups and 2 presidential suites with two coups on offer for your stay. The Presidential suite constitutes of elegant furniture intricately carved to add to the plush ambience. It has a king size bed, a writing table and anitque chairs with an attached lounge with television. Whereas for the passenger cars there is a single lounge for leisure. A total of 13 deluxe saloons are present within Deccan Odyssey and each room is provided with a complimentary bottle of wine for a royal welcome. Each saloon comprises of four cabins and a common lounge area. The plush interiors have wall to wall carpeting, a fully equipped bathroom and a private valet. All the coaches are named after the following significant forts & monuments of Maharashtra :
- Anjaneri Coach : The birthplace of Lord Hanuman and the former capital of Maratha Empire. This coach is named after the Anjaneri fort situated in Anjaneri situated near Nashik.
- Ratnagiri Coach : Named after Ratnagiri Fort "The Lion Fort".
- Sindhudurg Coach : Named after Sindhudurg Fort.
- Ajanta Coach : Named after the World Heritage Site, Ajanta Caves.
- Verul Coach : Named after the 11th century city of Verul later renamed as Daultabad under Mughal reign.
- Vijaydurg Coach : Named after Vijaydurg Fort situated along the coast built by Shivaji.
- Ambagad Coach : Named after the Fort Of Ambagad which is situated near Amravati.
- Spa Plumeria Coach : As the name suggests, this coach offers a mini-gym and spa saloon.
- Samvad Coach : The word Samavad means "dialogue". This coach has a conference room, library and theatre style movie screen.
- Peshwa Coach-1 & 2 : Onboard Dining Cars named after the 18th century rulers of Pune. The cuisine varies from Indian to continental as per your choice. The onboard chef can be briefed in advance for apecific dietary needs. Both the coaches have a capacity to seat 35 guests each at one time.
- Mumbai High Coach : The Bar Saloon is rightfully named after the International Port City Of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. The lounge bar caters to you the choicest liquor to compliment your meals.
For any service or help inside the train, there are turbaned staffs, in red Peshwa style overcoats. Each coupe has its own private valet who is there to fix your problems and fulfil your needs anytime you desire. You will actually feel surprised as to how these valets are there just on the time when you need them most.
