Deccan Odyssey Train History and Legend :
Deccan Odyssey is the joint venture of The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and the Indian Railway Ministry. In Feb 2001 the MOU for the Deccan Odyssey was signed and the Railway Ministry in May 2002, the go-ahead signal was received by the ICF (Integral Coach Factory).
The blue Limousine design took five months to finalize and to complete the project it took another five months. During the end of 2003 the Deccan Odyssey was ready. The first journey of the Deccan Odyssey commenced on January 16th, 2004 from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) Mumbai. Exploring Southern India on this train amidst luxury is an awesome experience.
