The Golden Chariot Coaches and Saloon :
The Golden Coach familiarizes with 1600 years of history. The royal sojourn aboard The Golden Chariot unveils empires and unravels secrets of the timeless state of Karnataka. And this experience is exclusively revealed by you in the lap of immense luxury. It comprises of a total of 18 coaches of which there are 11 passenger coaches, 2 restaurant coaches, 1 lounge bar, 1 Coach for the Spa and Gym and 1 coach for the staff.
The passenger coaches are named after reigning dynasties and empires of yesteryears of Karnataka. They are in the following sequence :
- Hoysala
- Kadamba
- Ganga
- Rashtrakuta
- Chalukya
- Bahamani
- Adilshahi
- Sangama
- Shathavahana
- Yadukula
- Vijayanagara
Each air-conditioned coach has a completely carpeted floor, intricate carvings on ceiling, wall panels and furniture in accordance with the Mysore and Hoysala architecture. There are 26 twin beds, 17 double bed cabins and a single cabin for the physically challenged guests. Each cabin constitutes of twin beds or double beds with cupboards for storage of luggage, a side table, lushly carved writing desk and bedspreads and upholstery made of rich silks, especially hand woven to ensure quality. An individual attached bathroom is fully equipped toiletries. The internal facilities include Wi-Fi, LCD television, DVD with 6 satellite channels and wardrobe.
